George
McQuilken, one of the five founders of the eCoast Angels Network
of Portsmouth, NH, is Chairman of Parcxmart Technologies, Inc. and
former Chairman of Groove Mobile, Inc., both eCoast Angels funded
companies. He meets regularly with regional Angel groups and represents
the Angels to the North American Angel Capital Association. He currently
serves as Chairman of Portsmouth's eCoast Technology Roundtable.
McQuilken invests both independently and through partnerships in
several major funds, focusing primarily on the Internet, telecommunications,
broadband cable, and software industries. He has previously served
as founding CEO of four companies including Security Dynamics (now
RSA Security), the first computer security company to have a public
stock offering. Prior to his entrepreneurial career, George held
a number of management, marketing, and technical positions during
a sixteen-year career with IBM. As Editor of the IBM Systems Journal,
he published many of the seminal papers on software management,
measurement, and quality. He was a project leader at IBM's Cambridge
Scientific Center, Adjunct Associate Professor of Systems, Computer,
and Electrical Engineering at Boston University , and guest lecturer
at IBM's Systems Research Institute. He is a member of the IEEE,
the ACM, the MIT Enterprise Forum, the MIT Clubs of Boston and NH,
and the Friends of Belfast. He is a member of the Strategic Advisory
Board for APEX Investment Fund IV and V. He is a graduate of MIT
and lectures regularly at UNH's Whittemore School of Business. |
