| How Parcxmart Works |

Parcxmart smart cards are plastic cards that look similar to existing credit and debit cards but which contain a “chip”, rather than a magnetic stripe. Some cards issued by banks and other smart card solutions companies may contain both.

The Parcxmart card is a “chip only” plastic card that stores and securely manages electronic value and loyalty points. The electronic value can be used to pay for parking and the Instant Cool Rewards loyalty points can be accrued and redeemed at participating Parcxmart merchant locations.
- Over time Parcxmart cards will evolve into City Cards that can be used for a variety of payment purposes. For example, they may be used to pay for bus, train and ferry fares, road tolls and other small value purchases at retail and other merchant locations.

The Parcxmart card is easy to find because people can purchase it at many local merchant locations. All they need do is find a merchant with the Parcxmart logo displayed, and then ask for a Parcxmart card.

To introduce the Parcxmart solution to people, in certain parking zones, Meter Greeters can issue a card to a driver who parks in the zone. These greeters provide information and assistance on the Parcxmart card’s use.

Once someone gets a Parcxmart card, value can only be loaded to the Parcxmart card by a participating Parcxmart merchant, at the time of purchase, in set increments up to a maximum of $100 in the US. and to similar amounts in other markets.
- Parcxmart merchants also reload, or top-up, value on existing cards.
- Parcxmart’s partnership with the world’s leading point-of-sale terminal manufacturers, means that the infrastructure to support Parcxmart cards is already available at many merchant locations, or can be easily installed as a replacement or side-by-side solution.
- Parcxmart does not require the card user to register a name or any other personal information in order to obtain a card. There is no chance for identity theft with a Parcxmart card.
- Parcxmart cards are not disposable as many pre-paid cards are today, however they should be treated with the same care as cash because no refunds for lost or stolen cards is available today.

- The Parcxmart card user can pay for parking at any meter or garage location participating in the program. All they need do is just dip the Parcxmart card into the slot on the meter and point to the amount of time they wish to have.
- The Parcxmart solution is coming to cities across the United States which means that the Parcxmart card you loaded in one community can be used in another. That’s great news for commuters because one card lets them park in their home town or in their work town. That’s great news for business travelers – rent a car in a city that has Parcxmart and you can use your card there when you park.
