• Electronic value loaded onto Parcxmart cards using a debit or credit card is processed via existing electronic funds transfer (EFT) networks, just as any other over-the-counter purchase using debit or credit is done today. The Parcxmart platform also supports cash transactions for purchasing value to be loaded on a card.
• Each point-of-sale terminal runs the Parcxmart load application providing secure and easy-to-use value load functions.
• All transaction data is captured by the Parcxmart application at the point-of-sale and is sent for processing to the Parcxmart-Host. The data does not include any customer identifying data even if a credit or debit card is used to purchase top-up value.
• The Parcxmart-Host is a core component of the Parcxmart platform. This secure transaction processing system is linked to all participating Parcxmart merchant point-of-sale terminals, either directly or via an in-store terminal host system.
• The Parcxmart-Host processes this data and prepares settlement advices to initiate relevant funds transfers.
• All funds management and movement associated with the value of issued cards is managed by a bank to whom the advices are sent. The bank may be one selected by the merchant, or it may be an existing Parcxmart banking partner. Whatever the decision Parcxmart never touches the money.

• Commissions associated with the sale of top-up value are settled with the merchant, and value associated with the load volume is moved to the Parcxmart Trust Account.
• It is with funds from the Trust Account that Parcxmart reimburses the parking authority for revenue spent at city parking locations on a revenue schedule determined between Parcxmart and the authority.
• All funds movement is managed by a bank triggered by settlement advices and timeframes established between Parcxmart, its merchants and the parking authority.
• Parcxmart works with cities to integrate an electronic collection capability for their parking meters and garage systems if one does not already exist.
• Parcxmart sets up the infrastructure to ensure timely revenue payment from the Trust Account to the chosen city account.
• Throughout the whole transaction process, from card load at the merchants, to payment to the city for parking time purchased by cardholders, Parcxmart never touches the money.
